HSA Contributions for Individuals Turning 55 in 2018

If you turned 55 in 2018, you had the opportunity to make catch-up contributions to your HSA. The additional catch-up contribution allowed for individuals once they reach the age of 55, is $1,000 over the standard annual contribution limit.

In 2018, the annual HSA contribution limits were:

  • $3,450 for individuals
  • $6,850 for families

For those who turned 55 in 2018, the contribution limits including the catch-up contribution were:

  • $4,450 for individuals
  • $7,850 for families
