What If I Don't Have a HDHP with My HSA?

If you don't have a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with your Health Savings Account (HSA), there are a few important things to know.

Firstly, without an HDHP, you are not eligible to contribute to an HSA. This is because HSAs are designed to work in conjunction with HDHPs to help individuals save for medical expenses.

Additionally, if you have an HSA but no longer have an HDHP, you can still use the funds in your HSA for qualified medical expenses. However, you cannot make further contributions to the account until you are enrolled in an HDHP again.

It's important to be aware of the rules and regulations surrounding HSAs to ensure you are using them correctly and maximizing their benefits.

If you don't have a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with your Health Savings Account (HSA), it's important to understand how that impacts you. Without an HDHP, you're ineligible to contribute to an HSA, which can limit your ability to save for future medical costs.
